The theme is nice, but the pubtools are alot nicer. trust me. This thing has got a WISYWIG and everything.
I will be doing some pruning and nice making with the templates and what not. But for the love of god people, try out the comments. Especially if you are the visitor from New South Wales (Dylan? how is fatherhood treating you?) or the person who just visited from Galway. Si Se Puede
Heard this piece on folks protesting a law that would make associating with illegal aliens would be felonious. And how half o LA was in the streets yesterday protesting it. They were chanting ‘Si Se Puede’. ‘Yes, I can’. Good for them. Hope it works out.
Stuck in my head the whole time I rode in this morning. 5.95 miles in 22 minutes. Average speed 16.2 MPH. I didn’t keep track for the way home.

Conditions Are Real
Snuck out after doing some work around the house and some freelance stuff for a quick ride. 30 minutes up West Chester Pike. West Chester Pike is good for the following reasons: There are some major hills. Most of it has a whole lane of shoulder. West Chester Pike is bad for the following reasins: It has some major hills. People drive on some stretches of it like its almost a highway.
I decided that the workout would be: as far away from my house on west chester pike as I can go in 30 minutes. Distance out is the measure of success. For the second half of the workout, its time it takes to get back that measures success.
Anyway, 7.88 miles out in exactly 30 minutes. I got from my front door to the Porsche dealership right after the SAP headquarters before I spun it. Headwind, mostly uphill. So that is roughly 15.76 MPH average out.
Same distance back. Mostly tailwind. Mostly downhill. 22 minutes to get back home. 21.4 MPH average back.
My rowing coach in high school used to tell us sternly ‘You row the conditions. They don’t row you.’ Its a sound viewpoint. But I’ll still be curious to see how much faster I can get up the hill at the entrance to 476 on a windless day.

One of the pictures above is me in 5th grade. One of them is one of my nephews. He’s not a blood relation. My brother’s son is pretty much a facial amalgam of all things McKenna. Meanwhile, look at that kid! And then look at me at the same age!
Weird?
I was charged with…ok…I volunteered to take my newphew (MN) around and let my wife, her sister and her daughters do girly shopping at a suburban Delaware mal. We checked out the Apple store, and more thena couple video game stores.
Now, I sold my PS2 but I still have a hankering for video games like a diabetic wants sweets. We played Star Wars Battlefront II in some shop for like 2 hours. Meanwhile, MN wants Halo, mostly for the unfiltered chat channels where you can talk lots of smack. I sent his dad a link to a downloadable demo with all the of the appropriate caveats(sorry MN.)
All of the children in this family have access to AOL IM. Here is a classic chat between me and MN, who caught me at the end of a particularly long work week:
