In which I reconsider my special relationship with the animal kingdom.

30-Mar-09

I found things this weekend…things that made me reconsider my otherwise universally warm feelings towards towards animals domesticated or otherwise.
To start with,  I pulled up rugs in the family and dining rooms after our painting was finished.  Parts of [...]

Always Be Closing. Or Gardening.

26-Mar-09

The walk thru went well, I think.  I mean,  I didn’t find anything new that I need to demo.  Any new fixtures that were broken.  Any new cracks in the walls, holes in the floor or cieling.
No surprises.  So that’s good, right?

15 minutes after sorting that out, coming across the bridge into Manayunk, I decided to avoid climbing up Umbria street. (Its my 3rd day riding to work this week. 120 [...]

Kingfisher

07-May-08

Took Graham to Pennypack park for a stroll 2 weekends ago.  First heard, and holy shit is this bird loud, then saw my first Kingfisher. Its was large too, which means it was likely a female.
Kingfishers are a rare example of reverse sexual dimorphism.   Thats fancy speak for ‘the females are physically larger and [...]
